This is Clematis tangutica, also known as Golden Clematis, Old Mans Beard, and Russian Virgins Bower. These yellow bell shaped flowers bloom from the middle of the Summer until early Fall where they prefer to live in full sun or partial shade. This is the larval host plant for the Spotted Thyris, Mournful Thyris, and Clematis Clearwing Moths and the Fatal Metalmark butterfly. USDA Hardiness Zones 3 to 8
