This is Aristolochia tomentosa, also known as Wooly Pipevine. This perennial climber can get to a height of about 40 feet if it has something to climb on. This plant likes to live in the full sun and blooms from late Spring until early Summer. This hardy Aristolochia is a big hit with the bees, birds, and butterflies. All Aristolochia species, except for the Aristolochia gigantea, are larval host plants for the Pipevine Swallowtail, Polydamas Swallowtail, and Mylotes Cattleheart butterflies.
