This is Gambelia speciosa, better known as its synonym Galvezia speciosa, also known as showy island snapdragon, and showy greenbright. This plant can be happy in full sun or light shade and is a very popular plant with the birds, bees and butterflies. It blooms from the middle of the Spring until the middle of the Fall and grows 3 or 4 feet high in most cases. It can also spread out and work well as a ground cover.
